Our Heroes (or victims?)

  • Nym (Kolt): The bitter gnome who quickly had enough of floating mugs and tried to communicate with the unknown.
  • Gassi (Victor): The eccentric oracle whose cryptic mumblings were suddenly accompanied by glowing hands, healing powers, and unwanted vision transfers.
  • Aurelio (Zeeder): The stoic fighter who had to endure almost dying, being magically “preserved,” and then being tormented by a recurring fey curse.
  • Zogg (Törde): The skilled duelist who became an unwilling recipient of mysterious gifts, messages, and the responsibility to lead the group towards an unknown fate.

Sequence of Events
After surviving the annihilation of the Black Banner mercenary company, our four heroes gathered at The Wounded Stag inn. There, the real nightmare began.

For two nights in a row, NymAurelio, and Zogg were awakened by an intense, burning pain from magical brands that had appeared on their bodies. The marks pulsed with fey energy and vanished without a trace each morning, only to return the next night. Meanwhile, Gassi's hands glowed inexplicably, but he himself was completely unmarked.

A mysterious, cloaked figure named Threadbare manifested in the inn. He spoke in riddles and revealed that an enemy named Stormhoof had left them “unfinished.” He explained to Aurelio that they had not been “spared, but preserved,” and gave Zogg a blank wooden disc before vanishing without a trace.

The journey into the unknown began after a messenger delivered a sealed scroll from Jamandi Aldori to Zogg, with a summons that could not be ignored. During the three-day journey, they encountered more ominous signs: a Black Banner flag by a tree with a carved spiral, and a dying man who, with his last words, gave them a second Aldori scroll after being attacked by Thunderhoof centaurs.

Great Mysteries & Clues

  • Stormhoof & The Thunderhoof Clan: A powerful centaur leader who seems to be the primary antagonist. His clan is behind at least one of the attacks, and he is connected to the magical attack that nearly killed you.
  • The Fey Curse: The nightly brands are a direct connection to the First World. Why do they return? Is it a trail, a torment, or a way for Stormhoof to keep an eye on you?
  • Jamandi Aldori & The Singing Thief: What does the powerful Jamandi want? And who is the “Singing Thief” that Gassi claims lured the Black Banner into a trap? Are they the same person?
  • Gassi's Powers & Threadbare's Guidance: Gassi's uncontrolled magic seems to be the key to your survival. Threadbare is acting as a mysterious guide who opposes Stormhoof. Both are connected to the First World.

Cliffhanger
The session ends just as you, tired and confused, arrive at the impressive manor belonging to Jamandi Aldori. You have two scrolls in your possession and more questions than answers. The doors are waiting to be opened…
